As we bid 2024 a fond farewell, Daybreak Game Company marks a massive fundraising milestone with charity partner Extra Life. The communities from the publisher’s wide array of titles rallied together, raising more than $213,000 – more than twice the goal of $100,000. All of the donations went directly to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide, where it will be allocated to support areas of greatest need.
“Daybreak Games has absolutely leveled up the impact they’re making through Extra Life,” says Chelsey Crowne, Extra Life Manager at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “From their awesome Super Team of studios to the creative incentives and milestones for their communities, they’ve turned gaming into a force for good, year over year. Over the years, Daybreak and their players have raised more than $650,000 to help kids and families, and the mission at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals—and 2024 was one of their best years yet! Being named Extra Life’s Partner of the Year is no surprise when you see how much heart they bring to our mission of changing kids' health to change the future. We’re so excited to see where they take this adventure next!”
Daybreak Games’ suite of award-winning multiplayer online games share a common theme of bringing players together, through questing cooperatively in titles like EverQuest or The Lord of the Rings Online, or testing their mettle in more competitive games such as Magic: The Gathering Online and PlanetSide 2. Regardless of the game, community and player-to-player interaction are at the heart of everything that Daybreak does.
