Daybreak Game Company Raises Over $85K for Children’s Miracle Network; 

More Than $40K for Rady Children’s Hospital 

Daybreak Game Company LLC, the San Diego-headquartered global publisher and developer of multiplayer online games, proudly announced today that it has raised over $85,000 through its annual participation in Extra Life, a charitable organization aimed to raise money for hospitals within the Children’s Miracle Network by encouraging participants to stream video games that drive online donations. Darkpaw Games® and Rogue Planet Games®, Daybreak’s San Diego studios, raised over $40,000 for Rady Children’s Hospital.

Rady is the largest children’s hospital in California and the 6th largest in the country (based on admissions). It is also the only hospital in San Diego dedicated exclusively to pediatric healthcare. The hospital treats 92% of the region’s kids (nearly 250,000 kids per year).

The $85K fundraising total for the Daybreak Games® Extra Life team included a $5K fundraising kick-off by Daybreak Games for each studio. This contribution from Daybreak Games has added to the more than $100M raised by Extra Life for the Children’s Miracle Network since its inception in 2008. Daybreak’s other studios, Dimensional Ink Games® (Austin, TX) and Standing Stone Games® (Boston, MA) raised more than $45,000 for their local children’s hospitals. The total Funds raised by Extra Life help heal thousands of children each year.

Every year, Rady uses about 880,000 diapers, distributes close to 280,000 bandages, hands out more than 29,000 popsicles to patients, goes through more than 9,900 packs of crayons and provides more than 2,900 crutches for its patients. The Rady Children’s team consists of nearly 900 physicians, more than 1,400 nurses and 40 dogs that are on campus 5 days per week through the PetSmart Paws For Hope canine therapy program.
